Dave Chamberlain experience at Borley

Dear Reader:
Just to let you know, My name is Dave Chamberlain and I'm not intrested in writing any untrue documents about Borley.
Im 18 years old and a college student. On the 5th April, 2000 me and my three friends were driving around in my car thinking of somthing to do as we were very bored. We visited borley at 11.00 pm as we had heard all about the hauntings and ghosts etc.. When we arived we were very scared as we were telling ghost stories on the way up there so none of us left the car, all we did was stare at the church, we didnt even know where the rectory was.
The next night I phoned my 34 year old brother up and all my friends who came before and travelled back up there armed with torches and lots of scarey tales about the old rectory that was found opposite the church.
Thanks to Rob my brother, we knew where to look. We got out the car and walked around the grave yard and church looking for (anything spooky) but no luck. We stepped over the fence and stared at the old building opposite and we all looked at each over and swore blind that a light was now switched on when before it wasn't. We had it in our minds that nobody lived there and rumours had it that the lights were timed to switch on to scare people away. So in search for an adventure we headed round the back and over the gate into the rear garden area and slowly moved towards the back of the house when Rob said. "What's that?" and by time I looked down I had also stood on it.
It was an electric cable of some sort leading round the garden and back into the house. SUDDENLY a light flashed on inside the house and lit up a downstairs window. We all jumped out of our skin and ran back to the car but as we ran back past the front of the house we noticed the front light had turned off.
Stuart (friend) thought that there is only a small amount of power to power one light at a time and the cable that we stood on was a pressure sensitive cable hid under the grass that activates a light inside to make it look like somebody is living there... soon after that we left.
Early this morning just before I wrote this, me and Andy (friend) went back to see what it looks like in day light, and I was quite supprised how nice the church looks in the sun... However, we looked around the church and read some gravestones and stood outside the old rectory talking about how spooky it looked. All of a sudden an old lady pops out from the hedges and scares the s**t out of me and before we even say a word she quickly says "NO ITS NOT AND NO THERE AINT."
I noticed she's holding a vaccum cleaner. Then she starts telling us that people like us are a pain in the arse and she's fed up of people gazeing and pointing at her house.
Anyway, I say, "Oh I'm terribly sorry," and "I do apologize."
She walks up the church path saying, "Oh, it doesn't matter. I'm just fed up of people distubing me at night . At least you didnt bring a camera (she chuckels). I'm about to clean the church, so if you really want you can come in and have a look around for your self."
"I instantly said yes I'd love to. We carried on up the path as she said that people come from all over the place just to see something that doesn't exist even from Sweden, and France. She asked me what I do as she unlocks the gate to the church. I said I'm at college.
"What are you studying?" she asks. "Not media studies or the paranormal?" she grins.
"No," I said. "I study reprographics and Design.
"Oh really," she replies.
The church is cold and after looking at the peculiar tomb that remains in the church, and listening to a few unintresting stories about religion, she says, "So there's nothing to it. You can tell all your friends that its all a load of rubbish."
Andy replies, "But there's been a TV documentry about it."
She quickly interupts and says, "I know, and it's all fake. It was on ITV and they asked to film inside and we said no."
I replied, "So they used a diffrent church then?"
"No, they used somebody'd living room and replicated features that were similar tot his church!"
Anyway, those are mainly the highlights of our little visit. Not the most interesting story, but indeed very true.
On the way home I said to Andy, "It's took the gloss off of everything now hasn't it!"
He replies that there may be other explanations eg.... She may be just the cleaner who dosen't actually live in the Borley place - just cleans it and says things like that to people to keep them away. Perhaps she knows somthing and believes that its haunted ... or... she actually does live there like she claims and dosent notice that the place is haunted and ignores phenomena (BANGING, SRANGE NOISES, THINGS THAT GO MISSING, SRANGE LIGHTS etc)....or... she might be absoloutly right and the place is not haunted and it's all a myth.....who knows she might of even been a ghost herself (chuckle).

Note: The building immediately north of the former rectory used to be the stable and cottage. It is directly across from the church. It has been extensively remodeled and houses the church wardens. It is private property, as are the three cottages now occupying the former rectory grounds.
