BORLEY GHOST SOCIETY

Associate Stewart Evans

Stewart P. Evans is a retired police officer who spent nearly 28 years with the Suffolk, England constabulary. He is divorced with two adult children and lives with his partner in Bury St, Edmunds. He has one of the world's largest collections of Jack The Ripper books and ephemera, including copies of the existing offical Scotland Yard and Home Office files on the murders. He has appeared on television and broadcast on the radio regarding his favorite subject. The Lodger was his first full-length book, and it has become a collector's item, going for $50 a copy. His fourth book on Jack The Ripper, Letters From Hell, prompted film producers to hire his as historical consultant for the 2001 film from hell starring Johnny Depp.

Borley also fascinates Stewart, and his collection of Borleyania is surely only surpassed by the Harry Price Library in London. He has original documents it does not have, including a letter describing the legal settlement with Capt. Gregson after the fire.
